Remember offices? They were communal spaces that allowed you to collaborate with colleagues in the pre-pandemic era, but they’re mostly abandoned open floors these days. Guerrilla Games, having purchased one of the more famous work spaces in Amsterdam, is sure hoping it’ll be able to occupy its spangly studio soon, as it looks incredible.
“Amsterdam has been Guerrilla’s home base for over 20 years, and the city’s culture and history continue to inspire us daily,” the team wrote on its official blog. “As we are now well over 350 Guerrillas, we’ve outgrown our old canal house studio, and it was time to find a new space to accommodate everyone and facilitate our high ambitions.”
It continued: “With our roots being in Amsterdam, it was only natural that we found our new home here: a historical building in the heart of the city, close to the famous Dam Square; now fully renovated with all high tech game studio requirements. Across multiple floors, this building offers everything our game studio needs, from state-of-the-art audio booths to a dedicated mocap space.”
Unsurprisingly, it looks gorgeous, with a cafeteria overlooking the city – and even a lifesize Stalker from Horizon Zero Dawn. Now, when is Push Square Towers getting a similar makeover?

Hmm, no wonder they had to raise game prices to 70.
It kinda reminds me of the offices in Assassin's Creed IV.
I need a Stalker in my room!... Wait, that sounds wrong xd
They have such a nice office AND can eat Stroopwafel, Poffertjes and Oliebollen everyday...
Nice, Amsterdam is one of the best places to live in the world
Needs more Thunderjaws.
@Olmaz what are you talking about?
@Olmaz And here was me thinking that the Benelux mostly got on 😅
I prefer working from home.
Where’s the green room?
This is so cool. I got to visit their old building while on my honey moon a few years back. Posed for pictures in their front office with some horizon creatures and got an Aloy sackboy keychain.
Please give us news about that possible SOCOM you guys are making supposedly. I m thrilled to hear more about it
They deserve this, but at the same time, this just goes to show the price hike is as unnecessary as it is unpalatable.
Pure greed!!!
@Olmaz guessing you're not a fan of Amsterdam and the Netherlands?
@Nexozi hell no.... if my workspace look like that, I wouldn't want to work from home.... buy hey! to each their own.
@Olmaz Agree my experience within 5 minutes of arriving was an old couple being mugged outside McDonald's for you know what and no it was not Green......................The plant sniggers today do not need to go to the Coldest place on Earth Spain chooses to allow recreational smoking.......Den Haag was a nice place but Lisbon would be my choice today To make Games.
@Olmaz what’s so bad about the Netherlands 😂
That Stalker statue is a thing of beauty! I love the Horizon machine designs so stinking much.
@Number09 @BusyOlf @Amin1998 @nessisonett One post to answer you all, as I don't want to overload this comment section with something off-topic...
But my issue is not with the city of Amsterdam itself, which is quite cute, but with the Dutch culture : self-centered, xenophobic and racist, arrogant, lack of responsibility, overblown capitalism... too much for me to appreciate that country (to be clear, there are good individuals there, as there are everywhere, it's the culture and the majority of people living by it I despise).
And as for Benelux : Belgium is busy enjoying its internal fight between the Walloon and Flemish population, Luxembourg considers itself as nobility and above all, and the Dutch are egoistical racists that think they're the most open-minded people in the world because they put women in shopwindows... so yeah, still some work to do...
@theMEGAniggle see above
@Olmaz wow I thought it was a nice place 😳
I went to Spa in Belgium to watch the F1 a few years ago and it was full of the Dutch. They were loud, happy and a jolly good laugh.
@Olmaz
You sound racist against the Dutch.
@Olmaz I believe everyone is entitled to their opinions, but there is a dramatic irony to the views you’ve expressed here that is quite humorous.
@RainbowGazelle This is exactly what i was thinking
@LordSteev You must be joking right? How can one be "racist" against the culture of a country?
@Kidfried There's a difference between being xenophobic (not wanting any foreign culture or individual into your own personal or national space) and being wary of a culture and the people growing in it after having lived in said culture for enough time
@Jimmer-jammer see above, but I can see how it could come as ironical or humorous at first glance. But it is dramatic, that's for sure!
@Olmaz
Your words:
'but with the Dutch culture : self-centered, xenophobic and racist, arrogant, lack of responsibility'
and:
'it's the culture and the majority of people living by it I despise'
and:
'the Dutch are egoistical racists that think they're the most open-minded people in the world'
Come on man, don't you see it? By your own words, you are guilty of everything you are accusing them of. This is the irony.
@LordSteev How am I guilty of exactly the same thing?
Dutch culture : xenophobic and racist (amongst other things) because they see themselves as superior and behave badly towards foreigners/strangers
Me : saying the culture is xenophobic and racist because I've lived in it enough to notice it's not limited to a few individuals (and I clearly stated that good mannered and open-minded individuals evidently exist, as they do in any place and culture)
Don't you see a difference?
@Olmaz
Hey, maybe your 'culture' is different, but I live across the water in the US. Over here, you could substitute the word Dutch with any number of races that have made their homes here, and it would be considered outlandishly insulting. What is a 'culture' except the cumulative way to measure the works of a people?
Culture: the customs, arts, social institutions, and achievements of a particular nation, people, or other social group.
It's hard to insult a people's culture without directly insulting the people themselves. I don't know, maybe it's different where you live.
@Olmaz
Also, as an afterthought, I'm not your nanny, and I don't mean you any ill will. Just trying to get you to honestly assess your words and their context. I don't mean to come across as the thought police.
@LordSteev your balanced and reasonable handling of this is the reason I haven’t jumped back in. Better not to have too many chefs in the kitchen on this one. Kudos!
@Olmaz you are a little b*tch
@Kidfried OK, I thought as much.
That said, I honestly don't think he meant his words to be taken as bad as they have been. I'm done with my lecturing for the evening. I've sort of put him on the defensive and truthfully that kind of leaves a sour taste in my mouth. It'd be nice if we could all get along and just see each other as people. We were all drooling babies at one time, and we've all come a long way.
Nah....I'd still take working from home over that, even after covid. Going to an office already feels out of time.
@Olmaz What happened to u in Amsterdam? This is a safe space. We're here to help. 😂 Amsterdam is good for a long weekend at a time, but I wouldn't want to live there. The people I've spent time with there have been great craic and are very open, honest and friendly. Pot, kettle black is a thing u know.
@RawnDawn ur inviting stalkers into ur room. 😂
@rpg2000 tbf you could just do up a room in ur house better than that. I've Always worked in offices before covid. But since the lockdowns there's soo many benefits I've found from working from home. I'm not looking forward to going back to the office. Sea view or not.
@Kidfried @LordSteev You see, the thing here is that our discussion has been on the level of public discourse I see today : nothing about the content, all about the concepts.
To @LordSteev : race, culture and individuals are words that describe very different concepts. Linking them together to the point of saying that "It's hard to insult a people's culture without directly insulting the people themselves" makes discourse impossible. When I say that obnoxiously protesting against anything and everything is part of the French culture, I am not making a statement about any specific French individuals, but about the values and behaviors generally promoted in France.
As for "race, it has long been accepted in most European countries that it is a concept use only by racists themselves, and that doesn't correspond to any reality for anyone that isn't one. I know some people try to change that (heavily influenced by the social context of the US), but they're still in the minority and are seen as racists themselves by most Europeans.
To @Kidfried : "There are no rational arguments to be made or found to support the statement that Dutch culture is any more xenophobic than your own for instance." 1-I haven't said anything about"my" culture (whatever that means). Making a statement about one thing doesn't mean you consider your own thing better. / 2-And yes, there many logical arguments to be made to justify everything I said about Dutch culture (not just the xenophobic part). From the laws, to the complaints of people living there, to the way conflicts are being handled, to the tax havens and the the heavy PR machine the country has, a lot of things exist that justify my opinion. You may still disagree, but don't assume I don't have reason to think the way I do just because I didn't put a detailed analysis in a comment post.
To conclude, what I'm seeing is what is happening whenever someone says something other people don't like : what he actually said doesn't matter anymore, people will try to deconstruct and reconstruct the concepts used in his words to the point of making them devoid of meaning and of blurring the boundaries between the concepts themselves. Then the discussion becomes wordplay, and nothing else is asked about the initial statement.
Since this site is for video games, and since I'm the guilty one going off-topic first because of my first comment, I will refrain from commenting anymore here. Sadly, I don't see any DM option on PushSquare. If there is, I invite you cordially to continue over there.
The green with envy was a reference to all those lovely plants in the first picture, right?
@Jayofmaya Yes......as is the reference to "Pass the dutchie 'pon the left hand side" merely Directions to my local Library.

@LordSteev for what it’s worth, I felt your engagement with @Olmaz was convicting in a respectful, reasonable manner, something I would expect from any friend who had my best interests at heart. Cheers.
@Jimmer-jammer @LordSteev I wholeheartedly agree and apologize if I haven't made that clear enough
Nothing special. Looks like my house.
@Olmaz Wow you are a nasty person as a Dutch person i find your rantings quite disgusting lets hope you stay away from the Netherlands you so clearly dispise.
"And the Dutch are egoistical racists that think they're the most open-minded people in the world because they put women in shopwindows... so yeah, still some work to do"
Saying there are some good people does not excuse your disgusting rant.
You are messed up piece of work and great at generalizing a whole country. And how can you be racist towards a culture are you that simple?
@Olmaz Xenophobic comments are not acceptable here on Push Square. This is your one and only warning, I strongly recommend you have another read of our community rules, or a ban will be in order if this continues.
@Olmaz good riddance jerk
@LiamCroft ban that small minded hater. Ban ban ban
@Kidfried ofc it exists lol
@Olmaz eşek
Well, one day I had a bad trip in the Netherlands but I still love Vermeer paintings and ...and..
Anyway I thought they moved into the new buildings a while ago already. Wasnt it 2 years ago?
Edit
Just googled it and it was first reported on PushSquare in July 2018.
@theMEGAniggle It is, that guy is talking absolute nonsense. Must have some weird personal grudge, or some isolated experiences that are related just to him, or I have no idea. But what he is saying is just simply straight up not true. I don't even know where to begin, but it's probably best to not closely analyze the ramblings of someone like that.
@JJ2 slow news day 😂
@XinGViruS well I was kinda just interested in hearing him out, I had the feeling he lived there for a while and experienced that racism he or they were talking about. But oh well I guess ☹️
@Olmaz I'm confused, what is wrong with being Dutch?
volgens mij zijn er veel mooie plaatsen in nederland maar helaas is amsterdam er niet een van...
anyyyyyway, yeah, they moved a while ago, i passed where their old office used to be in winter of 2019 (used to be right next to the main booking.com office just off rembrandtplein) and the guerrilla signs had gone. they had a big imposing helghast soldier in the foyer which was pretty cool. typical narrow amsterdam building though.
